We all love Chia Pudding, but have you ever tried Chocolate Chia Pudding?
Who doesn't love a healthy delicious and very quick breakfast? Add to that list (or any list) chocolate and you'll be happy for the rest of the day.
Chia Seeds have an incredible list of health benefits
Adding chia seeds to your diet is very simple, they are so versatile. You can add them to your salads, smoothies or really anything you want.
Here are my top three health benefits:
Antioxidants: Chia seeds are an excellent source of antioxidants. We need antioxidants to keep our bodies and immune system healthy. So add them to your dishes and don't forget to soak them in water before adding them to your smoothies or dishes.
Fibre: Fibre is extremely important and chia seeds are an excellent source! Eating plenty of fibre is associated with lowering risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and bowel cancer. Also eating foods with fibre makes you feel fuller and prevent constipation. Also, when you eat a lot of fibre you feel fuller longer and helps to control your weight
Anti-inflammatory: One of my favourite benefits! Inflammation has been linked to many chronic diseases. Chia seeds have very strong anti-inflammatory properties.
“Healthy, easy and nutritious.”
So here's the basic recipe
This recipe is so dynamic, because you can change the toppings and create your own version
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1/2 cup of milk of choice (I use unsweetened almond milk)
24 gms of chocolate protein powder (This is the one I use)
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the chia seeds with your milk of choice and the chocolate protein powder.
Whisk well to make sure all the seeds are incorporated.
Add them to individual mason jars
Refrigerate overnight to thicken.
When ready to eat, add the toppings you like. I recommend strawberries, blueberries, maybe some nuts or seeds.
Enjoy!
